Monster Island is The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster. Ironically, it was released around the time of Godzilla King of the Monsters. The movie is about Monster Island, an island where a monster might be found. The monster, if possible, is the island.


Because it is a film about an asylum it has a budget equivalent (Monster Island bad movie review) to a large children's meal. This allows it to focus on a few characters and film all of its big stars' sequences in one location during lunch. The Asylum may not be a bad film though, as it is a kaiju movie.
